"My subjects have personal meaning for me. Beyond that, inspiration comes from the chance arrangement of objects that speak to the inner eye and initiate a journey of metaphors and imagination. Then comes the balancing of positive and negative shapes, of light and shadow, and the contrasts. Then follows finding the rhythms of line, the drama of color, the seeking of visual energies as I explore the parameters of reality and illusion."
